I was at the market and saw a bottle of Maggi and I could immediately remember its unique taste, so I bought a bottle.
Planning for dinner, I was looking for what to cook and I saw a piece of Top Sirloin strip steak and pulled it out of the freezer to thaw it out.
What was I going to use on the steak? Looking into the refrigerator, I saw that bottle of Maggi and wondered how it would be as a “marinade” and
cooked via Sous Vide.
Here is what I ended up doing with the steak.
Ingredients
- Steak (your choice)
- Powered Garlic
- Maggi Seasoning
- butter and oil for searing
Directions
- Add a light dusting of garlic power on each side of the meat.
- Shake some Maggi seasoning on the meat and rub it in while adding (you don’t need to use much).
- Marinate steak for at least one hour.
- Take steak out of the refrigerator 20 min before cooking to let it warm up a little.
- Cook via the method of your choice. I used my Sansair sous vide machine and let it sit in the bath for 2 hours at 135F/57C.
- I removed from bath and patted dry the steak and then seared it using a hot cast iron pan with butter and canola oil.
